The Case For Organic Grapes
The only organic grapes on Long Island are grown at The Farrm. Proprietors Rex and Connie Farr were the first certified organic farm on Long Island in 1990. They use the Biodynamic principles of Rudolph Steiner on the farm and vineyard. In 2005 they planted a nine-acre vineyard with grape varieties of cabernet franc, merlot, malbec and petit bordeaux. All grapes are certified organic.
